I feel good about the adaptations I’ve been making lately.

Honestly, I’m surprised.

For the longest time, I resisted certain adjustments because I thought they would take me further away from myself.

I thought that if I stretched too much, compromised too much, or learned to operate differently, I would somehow lose what made me me.

But the opposite happened.

When I adjusted, something opened up.

More doors.

More understanding.

More connection.

More life.

It’s strange.

The more range I develop, the more capable I become of relating to people.

The more triggers I can pull.

The more situations I can navigate.

And surprisingly, I still feel like myself.

Maybe even more than before.

That realization alone has brought me a great deal of peace.

I’ve also noticed that I am no longer as bothered when things don’t go my way.

Certain interactions fall apart.

Certain opportunities disappear.

Certain people drift in different directions.

Before, I would have fought those outcomes.

I would have tried to force things back into place.

I would have insisted on my preferred path.

But now I find myself understanding them differently.

Not every closed door is a mistake.

Not every ending is a loss.

Not every detour is a setback.

Some things are simply part of the road.

Part of the design.

Part of the path that I cannot yet fully see.

And the clearer that path becomes, the less attached I am to controlling every step of it.

Ironically, the more clarity I gain, the less I feel the need to force an arrival.

Because lately, I have been experiencing something unexpected.

A sense of arrival before arriving.

A sense of gratitude before receiving.

A sense of peace before completion.

As if the destination is no longer the source of my contentment.

As if what I have been searching for was available all along.

There were also moments recently where I watched other people benefit from seeds that I had planted.

At first, I struggled with that.

Part of me wanted ownership.

Part of me wanted recognition.

Part of me wanted to harvest what I had sown.

But over time, that feeling faded.

Because the seed was never really mine.

The opportunity was never really mine.

The harvest was never really mine.

I was simply entrusted with a role in the process.

And once I understood that, it became easier to let go.

Easier to celebrate.

Easier to be happy for others.

The older I get, the more I realize that life is not a competition for outcomes.

It is participation in something much larger than ourselves.

And while I don’t fully understand that larger design, I find comfort in knowing that I don’t have to.

I only need to trust it.

So today, I feel grateful.

Grateful for the adjustments.

Grateful for the lessons.

Grateful for the roads that opened and the roads that closed.

And grateful that growth did not take me away from myself.

It brought me closer.

Closer to who I was meant to become.
