There have been some big shifts and realizations in the past few days.
Most of them revolve around two areas of my life:
Myself.
And partnership.
The insights I’ve been receiving seem to point toward the same thing.
Expansion.
Not expansion of achievements.
Not expansion of possessions.
But expansion of self.
The uncomfortable kind.
The kind that asks me to embrace parts of myself that do not come naturally.
Parts that sit outside my comfort zone.
Outside my default tendencies.
Outside what I would normally consider “me.”
And if I’m being honest, I don’t particularly enjoy it.
If given the choice, I would probably choose the familiar.
The predictable.
The version of myself I already know.
But life doesn’t seem interested in keeping me there.
And neither, I think, is God.
So if He is asking me to stretch, I will stretch.
If He is asking me to grow beyond my current shape, I will try.
Not because it feels good.
But because I trust where He is leading.
The strange thing about transformation is that it rarely arrives gently.
Every seed of growth seems to carry some degree of pain.
Something must be released.
Something must be challenged.
Something must be expanded.
And that process is rarely comfortable.
But I have noticed that the discomfort usually precedes the breakthrough.
On a completely different note, my Brooki cookies have been getting traction.
And honestly, that has made me happy.
People genuinely seem to enjoy them.
What started as curiosity has slowly become something real.
So I will continue baking.
Continue learning.
Continue refining my craft.
Continue figuring out how to create things that bring joy to other people.
And perhaps that, too, is part of this expansion.
Because baking is teaching me something beyond recipes.
It is teaching me range.
The ability to develop skills outside my primary identity.
The ability to become more than one thing.
For most of my life, I defined myself through a narrow lens.
Physical therapist.
Leader.
Business owner.
But lately, life keeps introducing new dimensions.
Baking.
Writing.
Woodworking.
Pottery.
Relationships.
Faith.
Creation.
And the more I lean into these things, the more I realize something important.
I am not meant for one line.
Maybe that’s why the traditional path never fully resonated with me.
Even as a kid, I struggled with the idea of becoming only one thing.
Something inside me always wanted more room.
More expression.
More dimensions.
More life.
Not because I lacked focus.
But because my curiosity was wider than a single lane could contain.
So perhaps this season is not about abandoning stability.
Perhaps it’s about creating new floors of stability.
Multiple foundations.
Multiple forms of creation.
Multiple ways to contribute to the world.
And as my range continues to develop, I want to keep expanding.
Not recklessly.
Not endlessly.
But intentionally.
Because the more range I develop, the more useful I become.
To myself.
To the people I love.
And to the mission I feel called to pursue.
So for now, I continue stretching.
Continue learning.
Continue becoming.
And trusting that the person emerging from all of this is larger, wiser, and more capable than the version of me that began the journey.
